Profiles
As stated on other pages, we are just basic in our riding skills. To qualify to be in Team Gumby you must enter a race within 12 months of application and attend regular events (that isn't many - remember... average riders!) that we here at Chookchasers organise. Also your ride has to be old. If you start, you will be known as an 'Initiate' until completion of requirements are met. The Team Gumby member requires dedication to the sport that we are most passionate about. There could be a sticker involved in this agreement?
To start now, cut the palm of your hand and wipe your blood on the computer monitor - this will begin the process! Then send us a message to confirm you will join, then bandage your hand!
If you find you won't be able to do the blood oath, you can choose the lesser role of Gumby Support, which only requires the sacrifice of a family member you don't really like that much. Even though you talk to them at family gatherings, deep down you would sacrifice this person for a good cause - remember the stickers! You know you want that stickery goodness.
In any case, the fun is getting out there with your older bike and having a go with like-minded people and not taking things too seriously, as life is just too short these days. Keep in mind you must keep show-boating to a minimum as Azza went very close to getting his sticker pulled with this Hero-esque stance that he performed at Pratten. A more calm approach is expected, such as that of ChocoRoto with his nice little clasping of the hands; this pleasant stance is just before a day's bike ride with the Gumbies.
No pro's run here people, just bike likers and ride likers - example Dazza's pic. Truly stunning piece of machine handling there; Elf like prowess, Legol-listic if you will?
By no means are we the best riders. We go alright and give consideration to the sport that can have extreme injury attached, but if we thought we were going to get hurt each weekend, we would all have jobs as accountants and would never do anything fun. And because we mentioned a particular group we better defend ourselves.
Don't argue the point said accountants; you would have to be one of the most boring job titled people out there and the career itself was only created out of neccessity. "We provide a service that we find interesting on a daily basis ." - said person 17654.
Get real! As with many jobs, they are boring as crap otherwise statistics would reflect that most people like their day to day job, but they don't. If you are the exception to the rule, that's great, but this statement of accountants being boring is generally accepted. If this still upsets you, then I'd say, "Have you heard of Kleenex?"
Why create Chookchasers?
Some have asked, "Why do a site about something you're so shit at?"
We say... in the world of now it's good not to seek approval of others for the sake of your own enjoyment. Too many people base their first impression of others as follows: "My shit is way better than that guy's shit & that makes me the best-est." In other words, materialistic Nongs!
So, for you people with the last name Rod, first name Nim - you know who you are. You are the ones who get a massive bulk saving pack when you purchase your business cards from Vista-print and share the cost. You save once on price, then when you hand one out to someone they say, "No, no, I've got my own... No need!"
Then you both scuffle over the texture differences of your business card: "Mine's egg shell... mine's crushed cornflakes etc." But alas, they are the same in every detail.
If you didn't pick up on that then accept you are one of the masses and original thought process does not exist with you.![]()
| Rider: | Darren H (Dazza) | Age: | 46 | Height: | 192 | Weight: | 106 |
| First Bike: | Gemini DB80 | Trail Rides: | 5 | Race Events: | 1 | Group Rides: | 9 / 10 |
| Preferred Bike: | Suzuki 2-Stroke | Race Bike:: | Suzuki PE175Z | First Appeared: | 2006 | ||
Rider Abilities:Being the Grandpa Simpson (not anymore) of this hopeless bunch has its advantages; good race-craft and racing etiquette does come with age or his large brain. Consistently races at the front. Battling with Tentsta usally and age pending? Also backing bikes into corners with his loose riding style! Dislikes: Passing Hooter! and age. ![]() |

| Rider: | Trent C (Tentsta) | Age: | 38 | Height: | 187 | Weight: | 96 |
| First Bike: | Yamaha AG200 | Trail Rides: | 5 | Race Events: | 0 | Group Rides: | 8 / 10 |
| Preferred Bike: | Honda 4-Stroke | Race Bike:: | Kawasaki KDX175A2 | First Appeared: | 2006 | ||
Rider Abilities:Aggressive racing nature with the skill to match, racing etiquette is a specialty. Usually at the front setting the pace early, forcing the guys behind to chase. Bit of a mouth open kinda guy, who enjoys his bike riding as you can see! Also doesn't use a toothbrush to clean his bike like some others around here. ![]() |

| Rider: | Rohan M (Hooter) | Age: | 34 | Height: | 187 | Weight: | 103 |
| First Bike: | Kawasaki KV175 | Trail Rides: | 2 | Race Events: | ¼ | Group Rides: | 7 / 7 |
| Preferred Bike: | Yamaha 4-Stroke | Race Bike:: | Yamaha XT250H | First Appeared: | 2008 | ||
you speak of? Rider Abilities:Usually a one lap wonder with a high crash rate. Can ride fast if following a better rider, where he can learn their lines or cheat them. A difficult rider to pass as he tends to have a non-existent race line. Watch yourself when you have to pass this guy for any reason. ![]() |
|||||||
| Rider: | Michael L (ChocRoto) | Age: | 34 | Height: | 173 | Weight: | 83 |
| First Bike: | Yamaha YZ100 | Trail Rides: | 1 | Race Events: | 0 | Group Rides: | 2 / 0 |
| Preferred Bike: | Yamaha 2 Stroke | Race Bike:: | Yamaha YZ100L | First Appeared: | 2009 | ||
Rider Abilities:One of the youngest riders with this group, even though he does suffer from male pattern baldness. He is known to push the YZ100 to the limits. Skill when in a racing scenario is questionable due to the low riding amount with the Gumbies. But we are assured that if any initiate keeps their bike upright for long enough, they will have a shot at passing Hooter. Note: This guy's old handle was Mickski (in videos). Apparently his new handle is more 'now'? ![]() |

| Rider: | Tim L (Timmo) | Age: | 48 | Height: | 176 | Weight: | 76 |
| First Bike: | Honda Bros 650 | Trail Rides: | 1 | Race Events: | 0 | Group Rides: | 1 / 2 |
| Preferred Bike: | Honda 4 Stroke | Race Bike:: | Loaner / TBA | First Appeared: | 2015 | ||
Rider Abilities:Who says age is not limit? Timmo wanted to start out running and decided that the best way to start learning dirtbikes is to go straight to a trailride (Crows Nest '15). Gumbies said: "Mate are you sure?" ![]() |

| Rider: | Ahren C (Azza) | Age: | 42 | Height: | 176 | Weight: | 106 |
| First Bike: | Honda XR200 | Trail Rides: | 0 | Race Events: | 0 | Group Rides: | 1 / 1 |
| Preferred Bike: | Honda 4 Stroke | Race Bike:: | Honda XR200RC | First Appeared: | 2008 | ||
Rider Abilities:Initiate Azza has been on 1 ride with us so far. Though new to the scene, he has the potential to be a good rider. He will have to work on his arms a little more as they are a bit tiny for his body and will probably be prone to arm pump! And are those man breasts?? His 'Mousey' head suggests he will be nimble, especially on his Honda XR200. Abilities are really unknown about this initiate as he hasn't done much riding with Team Gumby yet. ![]() |
